Sink or Swim!

This summer, the Big 5 all joined our neighborhood summer swim team-The TIMBERWOOD TIBURONES!
I was so proud of everybody!  By the end of the summer they had all earned ribbons in at least one event and they were all swimming like little fish!

5-6yr old girls 25 yard freestyle...

Glory takes her mark!

Lauren swam her way to all-stars in 2 events!

Go Lou-Bug!
"My baseball uniform is SO much warmer than this speedo!"

Brady takes the plunge!

Swimming is Rachel's sport.  She began swimming competitively  year round
just last year...and the Summer of 2013 was a defining moment for her.
When she failed to make the all star team in 2012 she became determined to qualify the next year...and qualify she did!!  She was the Division 2 overall 11-12 yr old 50 Backstroke champ,  swam with the Freestyle Relay A team and the Medley Relay team A- both of which earned a spot on the all star team by finishing 3rd overall at divisionals!
She nervously awaits her turn at the blocks...

She did it!!!  We were all so proud of her!

Relay A Team!...Qualified for All Star team in both 100 Free and 100 Medley Relays
Finished 3rd overall at Divisionals in both events!

Way to go, Tiburones!

Even Sean wanted to pose with Coach Bill and Coach Tracy!
They were the BEST!

Swim friends

Coach Brianna was technically Glory's coach, but she kind of adopted all the Sansanos...
or maybe we adopted her!  ;)

Only Coach Brianna could always keep Glory smiling...even when the water was a tad frigid!

Timberwood Tiburone All Stars!

"Everywhere we go-0, people want to know-o, who we are-r, so we tell them...
WE ARE THE  MEAN, GREEN, SWIMMING MACHINES:
TIMBERWOOD PARK SWIM TEAM!
MEXICAN SHARKS UNITE!!!
ZZZZZ....OLE!"

Summer Fun with Friends!

Because our move from San Antonio to Alabama was somewhat (ok-totally) unexpected, we had to make the move with very little notice.  Gotta love that military mentality! ;)
However, God's timing is always perfect and it provided an opportunity to spend some time with Grandma Lennie in Arkansas while en route to our new home.

Coincidentally, the Dubriskes, our good friends from Louisiana were also in Arkansas at the same time and we were able to rendezvous at Lake Ouachita!

It was SO wonderful to see them and, of course, the kids had a blast!  Steve dropped Hope and me off at a great little island spot where Regina and I spent the day soaking in the sun and catching up on all the details of our lives...how I miss having her next door!

I'd post a picture, but the camera was out on the boat!

They were gracious (read:brave) enough to load us all up on their boat and take the kids out tubing...By the way, Steve Dubriske is one of only a VERY few people I would trust my children's lives with! :)

Lauren and Ryan were first up!

Brady & Glory are all smiles!

WHOA!!!!  Girl overboard?!?

"WHEW! That was close."

Brady and Glory were next...

'Hold on, Brady!'

Dad and Rachel get in on the action!

Thanks, Andrew & Jeremy!
We miss you!!
